These games are going to be huge in 2022

Hey guys this is undercoverdudes, and today we’re checking out the new games that are going to be huge in 2022.

Now sit back and relax as we have a ton of awesome games today that are definitely worth playing and best of all many of them are free to play.

Roblox Frontlines

First up today is Frontlines, a brand new first person shooter that really is taking things to the next level. Frontlines is definitely a call of duty like experience, featuring fast paced movement, slick gunplay and sliding to top it off. However what makes it stand out is the graphics which are incredibly good, featuring not only awesome environments but also detailed weapons and fantastic lighting to top it off.

Frontlines at this point is an active tech demo, there are only two maps and two modes in team deathmatch and king of the hill, but it’s a great taste of what is possible down the line. There’s also a great amount of weapons, including assault rifles, smgs, shotguns, lmgs and more which have cool animations and sounds to back up the visual fidelity.

What I haven’t told you though is that Frontlines is a Roblox game, and it’s just incredible to see how much people can push the Roblox engine in the graphics department.

Definitely keep an eye out for this one in the future and tell me in the comments if you think Frontlines can compete with phantom forces and other roblox fps games.

Risk of Rain 2

Risk of Rain 2 is a roguelike third-person shooter that is making a huge comeback in 2022. The core concepts are simple, you control a survivor who is stranded on an alien planet and to survive you must kill monsters, loot chests to collect items and prepare yourself for waves and waves of ennemies. As the game goes on it progressively gets more and more difficult, but it’s just really fun shooting enemies, get looted up and going for to toe with huge bosses.

Graphically this game looks sick, it’s got low poly animated visuals that put the focus directly on the gameplay, and best of all it’s also quite low spec as you only need an early generation i3 processor and a GTX 580.

Now Risk of Rain 2 was an extremely well received game when it was released in late 2020, however with the launch of the survivors of the void DLC this games playerbase has exploded, reached daily Maxes of over 35k. Given risk of rain 2 fills a very well desired niche, I can only expect this game to become more popular as time goes on.

The Cycle: Frontier

Next up is The Cycle Frontier, and this free to play first person shooter is a game I think will be huge in 2022 Originally a battle royale title, the cycle has reinvented itself into a survival looter shooter, hugely inspired by the extremely popular escape from tarkov.

The core mechanics of The Cycle is the same as the original, you get dropped onto a planet sprawling with enemies where you have to capture resources and complete contracts, however now you’re forced to bring in your own weapons and gear that you will permanently lose if you die.

Personally, the extremely hardcore gameplay of Tarkov is a bit much so its cool that The Cycle is going for more arcadey mechanics, and this mixed with the intense atmosphere means its easy to pick up but extremely hard to put down. Furthermore, the graphics are super easy to run which is great for low spec gamers, add all these factors together it makes sense why this game could blow up, especially given the huge popularity of escape from tarkov. Overall I’m super excited for the cycle frontier and hopefully you are too, and thankfully the next closed beta is coming up really soon on the 10th of March.

Aperture Desk Job

The hype for portal 3 is very much alive in 2022, and while we don’t have it just yet valve has released aperture desk job, a free playable short made for the Steam Deck set in the Portal universe.

You play as an entry-level nobody on their first day at work — your heart full of hope and your legs full of dreams, eager to climb that corporate ladder. It’s an extremely fun time, which is to be expected from any Valve title at this point, and graphically it looks fantastic too.

While made for the Steam Deck, it’s also completely playable on the PC but you will require a controller given there is no mouse and keyboard support. The fact its a new glimpse at the portal universe is extremely cool and it seems like Aperture Desk Job is being received really well too as it currently has an overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam. On Top of all of this its also completely free to play, so make sure to try it out before its the talk of the town

World War 3

WW3 is a online multiplayer first person shooter, hugely inspired by battlefield and other large scale tactical shooters and is setting itself up to be the battlefield killer.

In WW3 you team up in huge 20v20 battles either on foot or in tanks or other vehicles, using a large variety of weapons. It has really solid gameplay, great graphics with a very battlefield like user interface, and overall plays

This game originally came out in 2019 and is currently still pay to play, however the developers are ramping up for a huge free to play re release with tons of updates, content and fixes to really bring this up to the 2022 standard. Given the failure of battlefield 2042, the amount of content in this game already and the upcoming free to play launch, WW3 has a lot of potential to be the next big game out there

Super People

Next up is a new battle royale game that looks incredibly like Player unknown’s battlegrounds and Ring of Elysium, and it’s called Super People. This game is battle royale through and through, hop in with your squad, kill some enemies and be the last team standing and the actual game mechanics like moving and shooting feel exactly like PUBG.

The big differentiator with this game though is its unique classes and abilities, along with the addition of leveling up, crafting and efficient looting. It looks at the success of PUBG and not only iterates on the formula, but makes it more accessible too. As always there is a nice assortment of weapons, but they’re upgradeable to an extreme extent, and they also synergise with certain classes. The map is great too in that its not too big but still detailed, so you’re very much in the action.

I’ve mentioned this game before but the closed beta for Super People has just ended, and even with PUBG going free to play it had a very healthy playerbase, so I’m super excited to see what happens for this game’s full release.

Forspoken

Forspoken is the next game on this list and this action roleplaying game published by Square Enix could definitely be the biggest sleeper hit this year.

Forspoken follows the journey of Frey, a young New Yorker transported to the beautiful and cruel land of Athia, a plot line that we’ve seen in many animes but not so much in video games.

Forspoken focuses on open world arpg gameplay, in particular utilising magical parkour and platforming techniques for fast paced transversal across the world. While we don’t have much to go off, the gameplay looks awesome as well and should mesh well with the parkour elements.

Just recently Square Enix has announced Forspoken has been delayed until October the 11th, in order to give Luminous Productions more time to polish the game. Given how awesome this game looks and the fact that lumious is made up of Devs that made final fantasy 15, the extra couple of months could really push Forspoken to the next level
